Backyard Football was the first game in the popular Backyard Football series. It was an american football game that attempted to recreate the experience of playing football as children. The Windows and Macintosh versions use the SCUMM scripting language. The Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, and Playstation 2 versions used a custom 3D engine. This was the first of the Humongous Backyard Sports games to feature an official sports license. It featured Steve Young and seven other Quarterback Club players. It also was the first of the Backyard Sports games to have a create-a-character feature.

Apr 23, 2002 Pick players from the Backyard Kids and 10 kid-versions of real NFL players. Direct all the action, set the positions and call the plays. Earn offensive and defensive power-ups, play head-to-head. But the Mac version suffers next to the Windows version because you can't use a two-button mouse to control running and kicking at the same time. You also can't play against a real opponent, just against the computer. Still, Backyard Soccer is a groovy sports game for kids and adults alike, so put on your virtual cleats and kick off today.
